Voltage Issue Help
Earlier this year my voltage would drop and stay in the red, and not come up, turned out the red wire from alternator was stripped off, so i got some smaller red wire and capped one end to the end coming off the alternator and one caped end going into the rest of the positive coming from harness, Started it and had perfect voltage 2 months later im driving along normally 5th gear 40 mph at night and i notice my lights went dim and voltage dropped into the red very quickly with no warning i dont notice any flashing lights, wondering if having a smaller wire and that many caps that something may have slipped or worked its way out. Im stumped any ideas?

Well, don't know for sure but the red exciter wire to the alternator is a dedicated circuit and seen problems when people tried to tap into it. See if code P1637 is stored/active in the PCM.
