Hey guys I am currently in germany, but I am from Cali . Me and my wife are waiting for my car to get shipped here on 7/25 but where looking to buy a beater car for the winter and for the dd . Right now I am looking at this car it's 850 Obo

Subject: Fwd: 1993 BMW 318is Automatic

A new right rear shock, a small rust hole in the frame on the front right, a new tire, a small leak from the differential, and the brake pressure ballanced. I've attached some pictures and my cell is xxxxx if you have any questions.

Now all I have is the info on it I have pics too but idk how to post em if anyone can help with that. And I wanted to know if anyone knew about these cars... Please guys any info would be so helpful , thanks again

find a late 80's / early 90's 325i or 325is .. with the inline v6.. find them on cl anywhere from 500-1200 all day

that 318 has a shitty motor.. also the 325e

if u can fix it out there u should be fine.. i would suggest gettin an lsd 3rd member or we have a bunch of welded diffs at the shop.. maybe we can ship one out to ya.. so u have some traction in the snow with some tire chains.

Is that 850 Dollars or Euros?

Maintenance should be cheaper since it's closer to the car's "home" and more are presumably on the road.

I'd find a MB turbo diesel W123, old school terrorist style.

318's are rolling shitboxes. I'd rather drive a Geo Metro.

x2 on the turbodiesel MBZ.

if your looking for a beater I'd avoid german cars, my girl just got a 94 Jetta and the POS fuel pump went out, $500+ out of pocket, labor plus tax was only $120. My $500 83 280zx has served me well and is a breeze to maintain, but seeing how your in germany, go for it

All euro cars are POS. I work on them all day and hate them. Lol. No offence to anyone. They are high maintnance cars. They leak, clunk, and are weak.

My dads '99 E320 is pretty damn good, especially considering he DOESN'T maintain it. He's the type to go 8k+ miles between oil changes, let it leak for a year or more, and let it misfire until the car doesn't have enough power to drive anywhere.

Of course, I didn't recommend a '99 E class Benz because they're out of the OP's price range. I have been told they are used as taxis in certain parts of Europe.

Well I'd go for a mercedes over a bmw, find anything in that price range. But hey, if the car is cheap to maintain over there, go for it.

I'd take a Benz over a VW and a BMW. Still is crap. I get these euro cars with 40k leaking from the oil pan. To make it worse it's the top oil pan (hard one) and not the little easy one. Lol. Who the hell puts 2 oil pans. Extra work!

Probably by the same company that would put an engine behind the rear axle:

At least they don't have oil starvation on high speed sweepers. You know, for those extreme cornering forces you'll experience with your 225/50/16 Continental tires and super-luxurious economy suspension.
