So... I'm supposed to race a Mach 1 tonight... Me: mods in sig.... 419/396
Him: 03' mach 1, longtubes, no cats, cutback, intake, EWP, Crower stage 2 cams, tuned, 3.73 gears.... 348/331

It should be a close race either way. Your car makes more power but it might as well have a turret on top compared to his weight

there is nothing to discuss...
So how much $$ do you want to earn tonight?
it wont be close..
a) its the lame 4.6L.
b) its a 5 speed
its roughly 400 lbs less... so 40 hp difference
the V has that 40 and extra and then 30 more to spare - that alone is noticeable pull away power, has 6 speed, has 3.73, has a stronger rpm curve...
I guess the last question to ask is ... how heavy / skinny is the Mach driver and are you 450lbs? lol

the best was pre-SVT development team morons (2002) when ford just could not get it together and severely over-rated their engines...
1996 cobra - rated 305 - dynoed 254 - overrated
1999 TA - rated 320 - dynoed 302. - underrated
it was never close...
then they decided svt 'fire everyone in 2002' and hired a bunch of new guys lets do a 2003 ... cobra . forge everything, we dont know what we are doing, throw a blower on there.. do all we can to finally beat something...
yet the sales flock to the ford anyways... i dont know..

Provided he can drive, it'll be closer than you think. It may be the "lame" 4.6, but it's also a 4v, and when decently modded don't run as bad as most people think. My even lamer 2v 4.6 ran 12.2s @ 111 with a similar mod list and 285HP at the wheels.
I think it'll be a good race!

I will be there to witness this, may even have to get in a run as well. People do underate Mach 1's, they run hard for an N/A 4.6, & his is pretty modded, but I'm still thinking he doesn't stand a chance from a roll. You already remember what happened when u ran against my old Mach with full boltons. You edged me out slightly & your car was pretty stock-ish back then, plus u had 2 chicks in your car.... lol... get em!!!!

if this 'lamer' car your talking about did pull out 111.. LIES on the rwhp or a gutted car.
True, the 4v does wake up with mods! nice curve... but overall the motor is tapped out in general just talking in general not specificly this.. hence why they finally went back to the better 5.0.
