Default cat converters

I live in Chicago and we have to do emissions testing. What happens if you get caught with no cats on your car?

But they will only find out when you go for emission testing, right?

No they test the PCM for it's emission self tests not a dyno test on anything '96 & up.

If you want to remove the cats there is a few things to be done, have not heard of anyone wanting to do so on a GTO though.
You gonna need tunning or O2 simulators but I dont know about the GTO, still new stuff there.
This is for "off road use" of course?
But I dont thing you local pontiac service dept. wont be excited about the mod?
