Default 1969 Camaro trans crossmember removal question

Do I have to drop the frame from the body to remove the transmission cross member from a '69 Camaro? I have the bolts out but cannot slide the cross member out because of body clearance (I cannot twist or shimmy it out).

Big Hammer.
Make sure trans weight not on it.
Also if body bushings wore out, hammer it out from one side.

Ok, that is what I was thinking. I started beating on it with a hammer, but stopped halfway through since I didn't want to screw anything up. I'm doing a trans swap, so I'm going to scrap the old cross member anyway. Thanks for the feedback!

Slide the passenger side forward. There is a little indention on the floor. Then slide the driverside back and you can work it out. I do it all the time on many customers cars.
