Default HP Tuner TCS patches - Do I need them?

Hi,
My ECU throws DTC C0561 - Invalid serial data received by EBCM.

Does any one know this is what the TCS patches in HP Tuners are intended to fix?
Also which one of the 2 patches is applicable to an E38 ECU.

There is nothing in the help system that explains what problem(s) these patches are intended to fix so any info would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Am I to infer that no-one has ever applied these patches to a tune?

TCS patch allows you to use TCS even in speed density mode
Vats 1 patch is to disable vats
Vats 2 patch is to disable vats

Thanks for the info - Looks like the the patch won't affect the C0561 DTC flag.
I am currently running in MAF only mode whilst I tune the MAF flow with STFC's. Sounds like I'll may need the TCS patch(s) when I move onto tuning speed Density mode. Tough the car seems quite happy with the changes.

The VATS system hasn't complained the calibration flashes so I haven't felt any need disable it - so far.
