stock internal, stock converter new best (12.24@113.5)
Ran my best passes to date Friday, Jan 27th at No Problem Raceway here in La. The air was nice, high 40's, low 50's, about 30% rel humidity. I could only make 2 passes, though. Keep in mind I still run a stock torque converter!
First pass was a 12.24@113.5, 1.82 60ft, and 7.89@89.88 1/8 mile
Second pass was a 12.27@113.0, 1.83 60ft, and 7.90@89.65 1/8 mile
I was happy with the car, but not so happy with 2 runs for $15.00. A car broke early on, and the staging lanes were jam packed within an hour.
Serves me right for going on a trophy bracket night with good air! LOL I think I'll stick to Wed night test n tune from now on!
Here is what is done to my car: Car is an 01 Z28, free ram air, pulley, Thunder Racing long tubes and custom y-pipe, ported tb, lid & filter, hooker catback, 3.42's, short belt, convo pro wheels w/nitto drag radials.
I really think the car had a teen in it with 3-5 more runs, but who knows.
Next time out I am gonna pull some weight out, not run a full tank of gas, and maybe try some tuning. After that it'll be torque converter and shift kit time Take care, Stew@ Thunder Racing

That's impressive for what you have Stew. Congrats! I'll probably have to get a stall + 3.73's to run that time up here in Seattle. I'm hoping for mid 12's after I get the LSX I bought from you guys installed.

Those times are incrediable. Even if the air was not that good I'm sure your car would still have been rollin. Very impressive.
What kind of lid and filter do you have?

Good runs Stew!! Time to put the 4400 converter and that "spare" rebuilt 4L60E we have sitting at the shop.
I'm glad the 3.42s are working well for you.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I know the stock internal thing has been done a lot before but I really like to get the most out of what I have. Before I worked at Thunder I had a 91 5.0 mustang coupe, bolt on car with a 5-speed and 4.10's The car ran 12.80's and a 12.78@104 in mineshaft conditions. Some of you may know Bob Cosby, who is on this site quite often. He was a big inspiration for me with that car. Talk about fun to drive, it pulled the left front about 6 inches on launch on a 1.65 60ft. So I guess you could say the stock internal deal is right up my alley (and not having a lot of money has to do with it too! LOL)
Anyway to answer your questions:
WAHUSKER, it is easy to take for granted our location and tracks here. We have sea level, good hook(most of the time), and great D/A's during the winter here. Bring your car down here and I think you'd be pleasantly suprised!
GATOR, no nitrous in the air, but plenty of tire smoke!
PEWTER SS, the car has a whisper lid and holley filter on it
JUSTANOTHER, no tuning at all, just a change for the speedometer(2.73 to 3.42)
The car did 334rwhp corrected on the dyno, before the asp pulley and free ram air mod
RED01, my car is a pewter, plain jane Z with convo pros on it. I remember seeing your car. I raced the juiced Impala SS that was there and the stock appearing black 98-99 6-speed Z that had a cutout. Wish I just coulda made more runs! That Vette in your sig sounds like a sweet ride, btw
Later, Stew
