I got my 2002 TA about a month and 1/2 ago now. Ever since i have had it the lock button on the door would never lock the doors, all it would do is activate the factory alarm. I didnt get a factory remote with this car. I had a new viper remote start alarm put in by a trusted friend who does that for a living. He to couldnt get it to work when he wired it up how it calls to be wired. I guess what im asking is does any one know if there are any relays or a brain or something that would make this not work correctly? Any help would be appreciated.

I would check to see if the VATS "Vehicle Anti Theft System" isn't interfering with the alarm system.

Sounds like a possible BCM problem. It controls the body's electronics including the door locks.

Is the bcm something that is as simple as plugging in one from a wrecked car? Or is this something that needs to be programed in. Where is the bcm located at on these cars?
