G8 GT vs 2001 WS6 and 94-95 GT
Last weekend a few of us were hanging out and there was a guy there with a 2001 Trans Am WS6. I had been eyeing the car up for a run and Ju1ce mentioned that I should line up with it. I ask the guy if he was interested the he agreed right off to a friendly run. He said I could pick the speed, so I went with 25 mph, which is perfect for 1st gear.
I forgot to grab a picture of his car, but I got this off his photobucket:
2001 Trans Am WS6
M6, lid, catback

My car:
2009 G8 GT
A6, cai, axleback exhaust, tune

I've previously raced 2 different 2001 6-speed fbodies with similar mods and they were both extremely close with my car, with the edge going to the LS1's, so I'm gonna call this a win due to driving on his part. He was cool about and we shook hands after. Maybe we can rematch after he's had the car a while.
Last night I was hanging out again with a few friends and there were quite a few cars out. There was a guy out with a 1994-95 Mustang GT who is always shady about his mods. The first time we asked him what he had, all he would say is that it makes between 300 and 500 horsepower
Last weekend my buddy raced him, and he told my friend that it was a stroker and that it made 360 rwhp.
People that know him say it's a 331, but he'll never confirm other than to say the motor is built for a blower, but he ran out of money. I do know that the car has a very noticeable lope.
Anyone who acts that way always catches my attention, so when he pulled in last night I asked him if he was interested in a run. He went over to check out my car and asked my mods. When I told him intake, exhaust, tune, he said, "yeah, that's what everyone says." Didn't really matter to me what he believed, I just wanted a race.
He said he had shitty tires, so I told him to just pick a speed, I was up for anything, and he said 35-40 mph was good.
PSM jumped in the Mustang and my friend jumped in with me. My friend warned me on the way out that this guy likes to honk it off real fast and try to get the hit, so I was ready for him.
Both run were from 35 mph. The first was probably to 120, and the second was about to 110 mph.
1994 or 1995 Mustang GT
M5, mods...possible 331, possibly built for boost, possibly I have no real idea what's in it.

After the races, we pulled in and shook hands. He did complain that he wanted a 40 mph start because 35 was too low, but he should have said 40 when I asked him, instead of 35-40. He was pretty cool about it and just asked what the car makes for power.
Few good races, but nothing crazy. Thanks for watching

Once I get the LT's and UD pulley on I want to try getting ahold of a 3.45 diff from a Camaro. I know a stall will help alot, but that has to wait for tires. I think the extra gearing will help alot and I should be able to get the stock tires to hook at the power level I'll be at.

the guy who put my trans in had a g8 gt with stock tires intake, headers, catback, and tune made 370/370 IIRC and did a 12.7 in the middle of June he said he picked up like 40hp from headers. G8 GT's are beast pick really good power for little mods just sucks they have such a tiny stall and 2.92s. Good runs and nice car

That pony did good, but the g8 is awsome considering the basic mods you have ron.
I have to stop beaing such a old fart and stick around later in the night I miss all the action !
Good runs !

Good runs, the Gay8 runs strong
Oh, and gypsy honking =
They pick up power like any LS motor, except the tunes pick up big #s because they are stock tuned for 87.

I ran 12.6@109 in my G8 with LT's, Pat G tune, Vararam cold air, UDP, DR's, and full exhuast. Added a 75 wetshot went 12.1. Never got a clean pass on it with the 125 shot. Did get a clean pass in KY in the 1/8th mile on street tires. Went 7.4@99. Then they booted me said I went to fast or some crap.
I got rid of the G8 cause people kept hitting it. It was in shop more then I drove it. When got rid of it I had a camaro diff that was never installed, everything basically for DOD delete minus a cam. Ported intake, ported TB that was never put on. Plus a complete drag set up of big/skinny's.
Two videos I have of G8 after getting back from a 3.5 hour trip each way to have Pat G tune it and everything put on. It made 377whp/390wtq.

Hang out a bit next time and we'll find you some races for sure
Didn't realize the hubs were different for the Camaro diff. Good to know for future reference.
I'm thinking a 75 shot and a 15 pound bottle should make for alot of runs on the spray Plus it's always easy to bump the jetting for faster cars.
