Default HHR SS Strikes the 370Z

First let me say I just got my overboost and pinging issue figured out because of a bad bypass valve. no pinging at full throttle and now the HHR runs like a champ.

I was heading south when a guy in a silver 370Z comes flying up past me but the light turned red on us so I figured he would run. Not knowing what these cars run I figured who cared. Well the light turned green and we both slowly took off as normal but I stayed next to him and the battle began.

We had a clear road and I noticed that he started to speed up a bit so I got on it and bit a stayed next to him. Already we're doing 15 over the 45. So he gunned it and I dropped down too and boost went to 26 PSI but he got the slight jump and for a short time I stayed on his rear bumper but managed to get side by side and and at the end I was about 1/2 a car a head but pulling away. We were hauling *** so I hit the brake and he did as well. About a miles up the road we hit another light and gave me a thumbs up but traffic was in front of us then.

Thought it was fun because it's been a while since I've raced anyone due to the pingin issue and a blown engine. LOL

My car only has the Stage kit but boost past the 21psi. Details of the 370Z is unknown. Pretty fun to have this sleeper car sometimes.

Is your 1/4 mile accurate? I mean if so then you beat the driver. They do go faster then 14's in the 1/4 stock.

Either way nice kill.

judging by his 60' they might be right. same thing happened with my speed3. i cant get the damn thing to 60' to save its life. but catch me on a roll and i can keep up with or beat low 13 second cars. i also ran into a 370z a few days ago and we were almost even. we were locked thru each gear but he inched me every-time i shifted. he told me he had the 7speed auto, which i expected because i have a 6m and i had bout 1k more rpms in every gear before i had to shift. and at 120 my nose was at his door.

True I know a few SRT4's that way. From a dig they suck *****. From a roll they are rapping GT500's with mods/Bolt on Z06's. They also make like 650whp and don't weigh ****.

A few guys on here have seen my car in action from a roll. Yes, I can't / couldn't get the HHR to hook up at the track no matter what. 1st is a useless gear and 2nd will roast too with this much boost. When I had HP tune , DP, and IC I took out a 335i BMW. there is a thread on it here somewhere. Later on, I had blown the engine because number 1 and 3 cyl rings took a dump. common problem.

106 mph is right on par with a 370z trap. so i can see you hanging with one. but geeze whats the deal with those engines.. arent they the same in the slobalts? never heard of any of them having issues with such minimal mods.

Wow, sounds like a great car. I saw a blue one at work, a older guy has it. Looks cool enough but I knew that boat would never run good times...can you post some pics of it? Does it just look stock or is it modded on the outside too? Good kill anyways those new 370's are tough.

I raced a 370z at moroso (when i was stock)and it went 14.xx. Those cars from a roll might be quick but from a dig they're garbage.

It was the HP tune I had on it. the guy that did it did something wrong. I should have not said a common problem but it can be a issue with high boost. It looks stock on the outside because they already have the upgraded looks.
