Default 6l90E 4x4 convert to 2wd?

Has anyone converted a 6l90E 4x4 transmission to a 2wd? It is my understanding it can be done with the changing of the output shaft and tail shaft housing?

Does anyone know the cost in getting it done? Does anyone have the part numbers for what is needed?

Thank you !

You will indeed have to change out the output shaft and tailhouse extension. You may want to considering adapting a flange yoke.

I have called a couple transmission shops and they have never done the conversion. One guy tnought it would cost about 800-1,000 in parts. Any direction on what's exactually needed and cost involved is needed. Also maybe a shop to do it.

Thanks!!!

Speed and Performance offers a conversion kit. the kit costs about $350 which includes an output shaft and rear housing plus you'll need to buy a new yoke for your driveshaft, they even offer the external housing to accept a mechanical speedo. they will install the kit for another $200.
