need help and info about hood supports for 1998-2002 camaro
hey everyone i have a 1998 camaro v6 right know it has the plane steel hood but i just ordered on ebay a aftermarket ss hood and just found out i couldnt use the same hood lift shocks or mounts because of them being to strong and the mounts dont bolt up the same i guess? here is the hood i bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
i think the hood supports are supposed to be much weaker but where can i find mounts and shocks for the fiberglass hood so its not to strong and ruin the hood please post links where i can buy this... thanks and if anyone know why i cnt use the existing mounts that would be nice... please reply asap i get the hood in like 3 days and i wanna be prepared thanks!

VFN is the place to go http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm. My factory strut fit but the ones that are designed for the fiberglass hoods are the way to go.

I have the VFN hood struts for my ram air hood and the only negative thing about it is the new hood lifts up higher in the air more. If you park beside other f-bodies at a car show it is pretty noticable. Otherwise they are a good idea.
