4L60E no staying in any gear??
i have a 1998 automatic trans am just had the motor replaced by a shop and less then a 100 mils after i got it back (3days) the transmission slipped once and then just slipped out of gear and couldnt get it to go back in so i parked it and let it sit for a couple days tilli could push it home (it went out a block from my house thank God)
when i went to push it hope i started it and put it in gear and it worked like normal for about 3 mins and slipped back out of gear again and now after letting it sit for a while it will go in gear an slip out after it warms up.it does this in every gear R-D-3-2-1.
any ideas of what it could be? my fluids smell burnt and are discolored.
theres also a rattling noise when it 'slips' out of gear.
