Default MPG before and after Cam

2000 camaro with pacesetter 1 3/4 LTs, ORY, corsa catback and lid. car is a M6. has stock gears and 853 heads. I drive it to and from FL once in a while and average 30mpg.

Just curious about what you guys average with cam and DIY P&P heads. planning on ls6 intake and probably ms4 cam. Will be keeping stock gears.
Also what lifters if any did you switch off to? Best rockers for a low budget?

When my Z06 was stock, I was averaging 24mpg. After the cam swap, 21mpg.

Should drop around 4-5 or so in city.. Highway shouldn't drop much at all, maybe 1-2.

Just back from road trip: Western Washington - Montana & back.

Best MPG was 27. This was on same stretch both ways doing 80mph on 75mph interstate. (same mpg as before cam)

Back around town now, I'm back to 18mpg.

Cam, LTs, & boltons

when I was just hooker long tubes through the stock 3.42 10 bolt, I was getting low 20's in the city and high 20's and even sometimes 30-31mpg's on the highway. It was actually amazing on gas for having 351rwhp under my left foot....

now I have the ms3 cam, detuned for my nitrous and a 4.11, moser 12 bolt etc. etc. In the city I dont even want to talk about it but on the highway its low-mid 20's depending on how the traffic is and how much shifting I need to do.

The ms3 with the 10 bolt/3.42's was actually really good on gas as well. It all started going down hill after taking away 9* of timing for nitrous, running 2 step colder, non projected spark plugs and of course the 4.11, 12 bolt.

I've put a few hundred miles on my C5 since the H/C swap. Highway mpg doesn't seem to have changed at all. Doesn't make any damn sense. Yesterday going down rt.251, flat as could be for a few miles, the indicator on the dash was reading 36.x-37.x mpg. I haven't really checked but city mpg obviously went down.

I'd say that's pretty close.

I do about 16mpg in town and 21-22mpg on the highway. Never took a real reading keeping my foot out of it. Too difficult with a 230/230 and SS4000.

Before the cam/stall I kept my foot out of it and could do 21/27mpg.
