Default Best boost piston, wiseco vs CP

Looking at getting either a 370, 390, or 408 for an iron block 4.030 bore. I know AES has been using CP pistons a lot lately (390"), others seem to prefer wiseco. What are the differences between the pistons and which would hold up better to heavy boost, ~800hp on iron LQ4 setup?

both are fine pistons now, and 800hp is not heavy boost. wiseco is just more name brand and been doing ls pistons longer.

As above. 800bhp isnt pushing at all. They both make great pistons. Although CP were more heavily used on the import scene, which really do get pushed hard, often making the same sort of power you seek, except from 4 cylinders.
CP are now owned by Carillo, and their reputation is second to none.

So no real difference in strength or composition? What about the rings, wiseco uses 1.2mm while CP seems to do 1.5mm?

Thinner rings are better. Although my Wisecos in my current block use conventional 1.5mm LS rings. Guess thats just whatever the shortblock builder specced
