Default considering swapping my lt1 to the lq4 or ls1

hey guys. i currently have a '94 Z. i was going to do pretty much everything to the engine. but i looked at ebay and saw i can get an lq4 or an ls1 complete with ecm and wiring harnesses all that jazz for around the same price id spend on building up my lt1.

i am aware the lq4 is a truck engine, so i was wondering what all i would need to do to it to get the full effect i want out of. such as do i need to cam swap, do different heads and so on and so forth. or should i just go ahead and get the ls1?

any help is greatly appreciately

Well the cheapest route would be to mod your Lt1. If you want to change engines I would say go with the lq4 it is an iron block which is only around 60 lbs heavier and alot stronger, an lq4 is a 364ci compared to 346ci with an ls1 so its a slightly bigger motor.

If your looking at complete engines the ls1 will cost less the truck motor will need the intake and all the belt driven accys from and ls1 plus the oil pan harness and ecm check out the conversions section under the swap guide sticky there is an lt1 to ls1 in there
