ok im starting to get frustrated with this car. its 96 lt1 and ive replaced the mster cyl and slave, flywheel and put in a new stg 2 clutch. its just not seeming to drive right. just changed the fluid in tranny too. but my problem is say i back out the drive and it stick it straight to first from a dead stop it grinds. also every 3rd and 4th it grinds. no matter how fast or slow i ease the shifter in or any rpm or speed it will always do it. am i just gonna need to rebuild this thing or am i overlooking something

I hate the LT1 hydraulics. I bled the **** out of them and they STILL had air in them. It's a real PITA. Keep bleeding them. Use a mityvac if you can find one.

I have only once successfully bled the OEM LT1 hydraulics because I seperated the slave from MC for the A4 to M6 swap in my car. I just bought a new sealed unit and did not break it apart on installs since and have had ZERO issues.

My $02 is your hydraulics are not completely bleed and you are experienceing shifting issues as a result.

If bleeding or new hydraulics don't work...2 things to check but they require you to pull tranny is to confirm clutch fork is not bent and the pivot stud/ball is not lose for the clutch fork.

...and TQ is 22 ft lbs on LT1 PP...if to tight disengagement issues, haed shifts will happen

If it grinds only in some gears the syncros might be going bad. My ls1 t56 was doing that so I rebuilt it with the high performance tranny kit with brass sycnros after that I have no more problems with it grinding
