Default Might rebuild 98 LS1

Ok my 98 Z28 has 275,+++ miles on it. It runs strong but I am kind of thinking about rebuilding while I know it is a good motor. Trying to find a good rebuild kit or person to rebuild it for and while I have it apart I want to put some good stuff in it, cam and what not stuff. Will be a street car first stip car second with a litttle nitros for added fun. Summit has a kit for $600 bucks that is mostly gaskets and bearings city motor in Dallas wants $2500 to rebuild my block to factory specs anybody got any ideas or suggetions?

If it ain't broke don't fix it?

Maybe throw some valve springs in it and do the rebuild/upgrade once something fails?

I learned the hard way, I would have a ls1 rebuilt unless I were to stroke it. I would get a LQ, bore it and go that route.
