timing chain ?
so i have a ls1 Im building to go in my 68 camaro. I going with ls6 top end, bottom end is stock replacement. im going to upgrade the cam, and the car might see small shots of nos.
i bought a true roller 9 way adjustable timing chain for cheap. here the questions:
1) is it just a replacement to install double roller chain and gears or what do i need?
2) or should i go with a ls2 chain? or do i need gears to use ls2 chain?

I've got a crane adjustable double roller on mine and it came with 2 shims for the oil pump for clearance. Most people rebuilding just use the LS2 chain and gear. Its the relacement part for the LS1 timing chain like LS7 lifters are the replacement part for LS1 lifters.
