Not a all out drag set up, but I beat the **** out of it every week.

I know of a couple guys on corvetteforum that use that blower in their street strip cars and run a good number. First one off the top of my head has a 427 with a YSi and first pass off the trailer went 9.05 at 150ish.

That's a bit of an open ended question.

This uses a YSi though

Ive seen an Aussie Ute do very low 8's. But Shauns is the quickest.

very little info on it though. If you check that bigshaun racing site, there are a couple of engine bay pics. But the website is crap. He used to be a quite vocal member over on the Aussie forum when his road car was running pretty good times.

Phil, I'd like to see a YSi in RS. I think I'd run an Chris Alston gear drive. You might recall I had a YSi setup 6-7 years ago and the blower itself kicks ***, it's all the custom bracket stuff that was a PITA.

I went 9.40@143 5.9 116 with 680rwhp and 3500 raceweight. Just think what a properly set up car would do.

NMRA race today did a 8.34@171 still getting it tuned in. #1 qualifier. This car is perfect and should go 8.0s or even 7.9

Surely a gear drive is a hell of a lot more complicated than a decent cog setup ?

I have no idea, just a guy in Iowa that posts on the local forum. He went 8.22 and 177mph to take the win. Posts under the name allgo

I also had a YSi on my LTx t/a, it made huge power and I daily drove it, never had an issue after I made my own brackets and pulley setup. Pullied it to 68k it was a SCREAMER, very reliable as well

I love this blower. They work really well. I hear lots of folks say they won't make much over 1k though. Hopefully mine will lay down my goal and eat up some folks in Mexico.

Al I gotta a Mustang buddy running a gear drive setup who's in the past messed with cog stuff and other junk. He's gone 5.30's with it and he's really not spent much time on the car. Are you going to Indy, he might be there.

As for the best price on a head unit, I'll ask a few friends. You have to decide how the blower will be mounted since the blowers come in a few different configurations.

We were just talkin' last night about how the YSi would be a strong player for RS.

I'll be around the drag radial cars quite a bit. I'll introduce you to that friend if he's able to go.
