Default Do you ever have to replace your bump stops?

I've got springs, shocks, and a sway bar on the way... While I'm having it put in, I'm replacing my isolators b/c they have 192k miles on them... and wanting to replace anything else that may need replacing. Would you think the bump stops would need replacing? I've been running around on an Eibach Prokit springs and Bilstein shocks for ~100k miles/6 years.

Just take a wheel off and grab it and move it side-to-side. If it crumbles in your hand or cracks, replace it.

Hmmm... I wonder how bad of an idea it is to just not have a bump stop?

I also wonder how bad it is to replace them later? Do you have to take everything out to replace them?

Well seeing that the entire riased area that includes the bump stop mounts was cut out on my car for six years, I don't find them that important. Most drag cars will usually cut them out to clear the tire and my 315s required it. If you're concerned with bottoming out then just replace them but I never bottomed out in any of my F-bods.

I've got 315's on mine and haven't had a problem w/ them... Hopefully w/ these new shocks/springs, I won't be nearly as likely to need them.

without the bumpstops, your shocks will bottom out long before the axle hits the frame

If you ever carry any weight in the back of your car of 4 passengers you'll be on them all the time. And considering I very rarely do that but the axle pad for the bump stops stays polished on my car tells me I hit them pretty often.

Assuming no bumpstops... does anyone know if typically the shocks bottom out or the coils bind first?

the shocks will bottom out first...assuming you haven't cut coils off the rear springs

Replaced your isolators? What was the condition of yours, isolators seem to be a pretty sturdy piece to me?
