Exclamation Similar Paint Code to 30th Anniversary Trans Am Wheels????

I have some 30th wheels that i tried to get redone, but didnt come out well, paint matched great, it was a paint and clear mix, but they could not get it to stick on the wheels, it would just flake off with your finger nail. is there similar color paint code to the gm color? i know some people say there "anodized" and some say "high tint blue polish", but i just want something similar, doesnt have to be 100% exact. I have already paid these people, so i cant take them anywhere else

Why would the powder coat chip off?

Was the rims not prepped correctly?

paint wont stick to shiny/polished metal surfaces. it has to be sanded so it can "mechanicaly" adhere. your best bet would be a powdercoat or anodized.

What part doesnt help...? i guess my original intention was that you would PM the OP. His experience with finding "correct" paint I think would help. Could also give his end results as to whether his paints/techniques turned out and are still sticking to his wheels.......Possibly could provide a contact for your painter to his to help? Just suggestions....

You need to have them powdercoated. as said earlier paint wont adhere to a anodized or slick metal finish, it has to be roughed up. And even if you rough it up you will still get adhesion problems from the anodized original finish.
