Default The mighty Dodge Hemi!

I voluntered to help my friend with his 2009 Dodge Charger Hemi. It was throwing a code for #3 missfire. Make a long story short the #3 intake lifter roller was locked up and it smoked the cam lobe! This thing only has 70,000 miles on it!!All I can say is he should have bought a Chevrolet! What a P.O.S...

that sucks, I had never heard of an ls engine doing that. Lets blame Made in Mexico! Im still going to go with Dodge sucks. You have to take the whole front bumper cover off this charger to take out the headlight lens..

this type of thing just happens, i could see if it was a reg. occurrence then yeah i would say dodge sucks. as far as the bumper cover coming off to get to the headlights, a few cars are like that now so its nothing new.

MY son had same problem with # 3 with Y2K 5.3 with GM hot cam, looked like the same picture but more wear, the roller was worn completly flat. How ever the 5.3/hot cam ran perfect to 314000 HARD miles, the balance of the engine looked very good , no lip in top of cylender, does not use 1/2 quart oil ( casteroil syn ) in each changing/ 5 k miles, we install the OE cam with one new roller lifter ( had 30 k on it ) from my 5.7 and the 5.3 runs/sounds great, how ever my grand dauther just bought a new charger/hermi I will pass the warning on to her
