Please help me! Im going crazy lol! 2001 ls1 weird tick noise from engine w video!!!
Okay, so I have a LS1 camaro that is mostly stock besides exhaust and deleted o2 sensors and cats, has been tuned. I have had no problems for a long time, replaced a water pump like 4 months ago, besides that it has had zero problems. Anyways, about a week ago I was driving 80-90MPH down the tollroad and my service engine light came on and I immedately looked at all my gauges, all seemed fine so I kept driving. Made it home and didnt think anything of it, after a few days the light remained and I started getting a weird tick coming from what sounds like passenger side valve covers. So I ran my codes and got a P0137 P0151 and a P0131, all O2 sensors, also running rich or lean, however they have been tuned out so it shouldn't be a issue. I am thinking it is either a lifter that has gone bad or a possible exhaust leak, gas mileage has dropped and my exhaust smells. It is mainly in between 1K to 2K RPM when I hear it. Sounds like marbles clicking together kinda. I have linked to a video of the noise, but it seems to be getting worse and worse as it is getting colder here in texas. (haha)> I have checked and live in Dallas and was going to take it to LG to have them check it out but id rather save myself a couple hundred dollars lol. Anyways if yall would check out the video and let me know what you think id greatly appreciate it. You can really hear it at about 43 or 44 seconds into the video. Please help me this is driving me crazy lol. I know to look for black for leaks and stuff just dont have anyways to put my car on ramps or anything.

I have a strange tick too(on my 98), and would just change the header gasket and see if that works but it's a little more of a hassle than it is on my IROC. I'm going to pull the valve cover at my next earliest convenience. I'm pretty sure that I can feel something in the valve cover back by cylinder#8. If it is valve train I'm hoping it's either a push rod or loose rocker. I can't be pulling heads to change lifters right now.
But yeah, try feeling the valve cover, or using a mechanics stehtascope(sp?) over each cylinder. That should help you out a bit.
