Default Steering Rack AND column

I just did the whole take the column apart and locktight all the tilt mechanism bolts only to find out that it did nothing to help the slack in my column.

A life time mechanic also showed me where he thought he could see and hear some slack in the actual rack too way down low, the first link after the steering box/gear. When I say rack I mean the 3 sectioned link going up to the column.

Are there any other things I should replace in the column itself, or replace the entire thing? How much should I expect for a whole column?

I think im pretty set on replacing the whole rack as well with the mileage and abuse the car has.. I have already replaced the steering rack that runs along the k-member. How much for a whole rack?
