Callies Compstar Crank?

Callies Compstar Crank?
Can you have these turned? I had a bad experience with a builder and he didnt tighten 2 rod bolts and one we caught and the other was broke off! Any who, it put a knick about the size of a ball point pen and some light scuffings. I just want to know what your guys opinions on turning one of these 10 over or possibly welding it and have it cleaned up. I know some people don't recommend turning it and just looking for options!

Some people keep regurgitating what they read on the Internet about the nitriding being taken off, thinking that the crank will somehow come apart without it. In the real world, it's been done over and over again on cranks that have seen over 1000hp. Turning the crank .010" is no big deal.

You could send them out and have them coated
Mine are not it is not something you have to do with any crank. It provides a little protection but it is not going to save you if you have issues.

mines possibly getting turned and getting .010 as a lot of machine shops here have found some problems with the cheaper chinese made cranks and matching bearings even if they state finished in America, most are like Scat cranks but there having that many like this they recommended it. It also takes them longer matching up x-amount of different bearing sizes compared to just turning them to suit a set of bearings from the start.
There going to check them first and make sure there all ok then give me the option of turning them if one or more are off or if ok then not having to turn them.
And there not the only machine shop here that have mentioned this too me as well as shops selling the bearings.
