Phone Apps For Diagnostics?

Phone Apps For Diagnostics?
Is anyone using some of the diagnostic phone apps available? I am going to start data logging my 1/4 mile runs next year and thought a phone app would be a lot less clunky to have in the car. Just curious if anyone has used Torque or any others with success?

I use dash command on my iPhone. Reads codes, and logs generic pids fine. Don't use it in my ls1 as let's be honest EFI live ***** all over everything. But for other cars it gets the job done fine. As a bonus the go point cable I use even charges my phone when it detects a data stream.

torque's nice, but refresh rate is a bit limited by the adapter you use. the cheap adapters ($30-50 on ebay) are good for check engine lights and basic real time info, but there is some lag. the nicer adapters ($150+) apparently work better, but I haven't gotten around to trying any of them yet

i know there is also some limitation to refresh rate in the program, but i didnt dig too deep into the forums to know how precise it gets. for me, i grabbed it more as a code scanner than anything. $30 for the adapter and $5 for the pro version results in something much better than your typical $60 budget handheld. the live sensor data and gauge readings were just icing on the cake

LOL,, I do tuning on my laptop via EFILive. I usually don't do engine tuning to the car at the track though. I'm mostly doing suspension tuning. Just wanted to have a smaller device to log the runs, check wheel speed at launch etc.. I might try Torque, or I might just fab up a solid mount for the laptop....?

I personally like torque a lot logs way better than my $300 Matco scan tool. Idk the refresh rate but iirc it was around 350 lines of data for a 12 second pass on a spread sheet. It also read KR but not pulse width but I have the odd ball 98 pcm.as far as a PC Bluetooth capable software nothing free or cheap that's worth a damn. For the money torque is the best after that then its tuning software or the innovate data loger

Anyone else have input on this? I have an ipod touch 4 and from what I have been reading I can't use the bluetooth one so I'd have to get wifi. The elm 327 wifi is what I'm thinking and then using fuzzycar or w/e its called for $4.99. Anyone tried something like this? Going kinda cheap but the parts stores have started not letting you use the obdII scanner and last time I had to fight the guy to let me look at it instead of getting his "expert" opinion.
