I wouldn't recommend it. I have 9.5 y2k's from OEwheel and had 255's on them and it looked terrible. Now they have 275's and fit "perfect". Perhaps M/H would work different, but this is my experience.

^ 2x. 275 on a 8.5 will have the bulged look. It can be done but the look of it isn't gonna be there unless you just need something but even then I don't it would be that much of a problem unless you drive right.

Aren't factory ws6 and SS wheels 17x9 with a factory size of 275/40? I don't see how a .5 inch difference will make that much of a difference, especially since the OP is only looking for a drag setup. A quick google search found this old for sale thread with pictures of the exact setup the OP was asking for https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts...t-275-drs.html

^ That's what I was thinking myself. Only thing I could see would be the slightly bulged looked but if there DR's, I'd run the hell out of them. In my earlier post, I miss read and thought it was about street tires but it's kinda hard not be hard on a set of DR's, lol.

I have factory wagon wheels on my T/A and the y fit great!. the wheels came stock with 245/40/17 front and 275/40/18 rear. My wheels are factory an the rears are 10.5 inches wide, the fronts are 8.5 inches. Look at my profile pics from the rear of the car.

I still dont see a problem with it, i've put 275/40s on plenty of gto wheels, arent they 17x8? Or maybe they are 8.5s. Like stated above, it shortens the sidewall a little. I'm pretty sure the mustang guys throw a 275/40 on their wheels all the time as well. You can read internet myths or just put them on. Its definately not as stupid as stretching a 225 on a 10 like the hellaflush guys do ...lol
