Default cx-7 vs 2v GT

Ok.

I got back around to putting my bolt-ons back on after about a month of having them off for warranty work.

Mods
intercooler
cold air intake
cat back, witch is stright pipe(sound great, like a jet)
BOV
aftermarket VVTI actuator(helps with 5500+ rmp range)
aftermarket timing chain
sparkplugs
boost is maxed for the turbo

Now for the races.

I see this 99-04 GT at the stop light.

I get in behind him and he takes off from the light spinning.

I get next to him and I start to brake boost and honk to see if his is game and he just takes off. I just let of the brake and hit the gas. I am in 3rd at 40 and I start to hit boost and I stop his pull with him about a half car in front and he lets off.

The next race it was clean me in 2nd at 40 and him waiting on the 3rd honk to take off. I braked boost to 13psi(the ecm won't let it run more than 13psi in 1st and 2nd gear) I am in 2nd and on the 3rd hook I just pull and pull and pull and pull. I was about 6 car by 90-100.

The next race was at 55 or so with me in 3rd gear brake bossting to 18psi and him honking it off. I put about 10 cars on his by 110 or so.

He want to race again and started yelling at me saying I had nos or some ****. I laughed and yelled TORBO.

We slow down to about 40 again and he honks it off again. I dont brake boost. He pull about 2 cars I stop his pull and go right by him by 90 and by 110 I have about 2 or 3 cars on him.

We stop and talk, He had cold air intake, clutch, short throw, x-pipe, bullet mufflers, underdrive pulleys, and a programmer. Dynoed 253whp and 246wtq he said.

I hava ? Bolt on Cx-7's are only dynoing about 280-290fwhp. I do have the boost up but his car is about 400-600lbs lighter. He was a good driver not great.

What kind of hp do you have to have to beat a car with that much weight difference? I think I might be over the 300fwhp mark what do you guys think.

here's the rule of thumb that's been around for decades: 10rwhp = 100lbs = 1mph in the 1/4 mile. ie, take off 100lbs is the same as adding 10rwhp as far as 1/4 mile time and trap speed goes. that's assuming perfect traction btw: big turbo cars that can't launch or use all there power until higher mph can skew the results.

Good kill.

I love how people always assume nitrous and never just "it's modded".

I thought it was funny as hell. You can hear my turbo spool out my exhaust when I brake boost when you are on my passanger side.

I love having a SUV that everyone thanks they can beat. I love picking on rice to...... I am not in the ls1 hp range yet but on day I will be there.

impossible to guess your fwhp based off a street race. though 6 cars lengths from a 40-100 roll is quite alot

Take it to the track, run it, put it on the weight scale, do math to get a rough estimate on what your whp would be.

Nice kill
