Default which cam would be better?

OK here is my setup and 3 cam options...

-3600 stall
-3.73 gears
-basically stock ls1 with minor bolt ons

looking for a decent idle, not too concerned about mpg but dont want to have to upgrade injectors soon or fuel pump if not necessary. aiming for around an even 400hp/375tq somewhere around there

will be getting either of these

custom grind 238/238 .585/.585 on a 114
custom grind 222/230 .561/.561
crane cam 222/228 .551/.551

would be using stock 243 heads(will yellow springs be good enough for these?), ls6 oil pump, ls7 lifters, pushrods, and stock gm 6.0 gaskets...

99 cam only car will likely be close to needing injectors
99 heads/cam car will definitely need injectors to be safe IMO

I was hitting over 90% duty cycle with a 230/224 cam with 28# injectors (granted I had a small vacuum leak that was tuned over).

You might not need them, but I would count on it just in case. Otherwise you end up with a car you can't rpm until you do and needs tuned twice.

From what I've seen a cam only LS1 the limit is about a 228R and even that will probably be exceding the allowable duty cycle.

It is a wide separation, but a lot of the new cams Geoff at EPS specs have large splits like that. Mine is a 230/238 and it seems to work well with my 799 combo (same casting as 243)

Where are you getting these numbers from? A good idea might be to call one of the sponsors and get some opinions. Texas Speed, Thunder Racing, EPS, etc are all some good choices.
