Question LT Header system that is right for ME?

Looking to buy headers with my tax return and need some opinions.

Requirements: Full long tube headers, cat, y-pipe system with emissions connections. Needs to be extremely easy to install, un-install (I plan on putting stock manifolds and y back on when smog time rolls around). Would prefer a flanged connection versus a band clamp system. Does not need to have easy swap out cats (I plan on always running them). I don't want any y-pipe banging or clearing problems. I would prefer not to have to trim the I-pipe.

Price: I basically have about $1200 to spend, but can kick in a little more if needed.

Please post any and all personal experiences, problems, pictures, etc. My biggest concern is being able to swap back to stock, get smogged, and put LT's back in all in one day in my garage.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

QTPs all the way...www.quicktimeperformance.com

they make the best header out there.....they are stainless steel so no rusting...
they are also known for being one of the best easiest headers to install.

My coated headers are peeling and rusting... now i have to spend more money to replace them... i should have gone with QTPs to begin with...

oh welll i have my QTPs already on order so i'll be fine soon

Why are you going to run a cat if you are swapping back for the smog?

Better question then: why are you swapping back to stock if you're running a catted y?

Live in CA or something?

There is no easy to install/uninstall LT for these cars so something tells me after you put them in you won't be looking forward to doing it over and over again.
But yeah, QTPs look like the real deal, nice headers.

KrazyDan, could you send me some audio files of the catted kooks through you GMMG? I really want to know how that sounds. I may need to pay you a visit to get the true ideal. Keep me updated!

My plan was the same as yours: install LT's (but with an ORY) and swap to stock for smog. After the install this week, I can tell you I WILL NOT BE DOING THAT. I live in Cali, too. If I were to redo it, I would have bought FLP's, swapped in cats for smog, and find someone to "look the other way" and jusst sniff your tailpipe. Since you want cats anyways, I would go with any of the big names w/ a good catted y.

Good Luck
Jeff
