fuel sender with built in pump for 68 camaro im curious if they make a drop in fuel sender for a factory fuel tank for a 68 camaro that has a built in fuel pump and with low enough fuel preasure for a carb''d set-up...thanks billy

The tank is pretty shallow. 8" if I remember correctly. As a result I've not seen a combo pump/sender for the setup.
I just finished a 67 and ended up putting a sump on the factory tank then plumbing to a high volume pump.

Many will just add a TankINC intake pump setup and leave the factory sender in place.
I have also seen a few use the 4th Gen F-Body bucket setup, they had to shorten it, but one problem would be that the fuel sender is not of the same ohm range, I saw a thread that someone make a retro fit sending unit to replace the 4th Gen one with a sender of 0-90ohm to match up with the early cars (60's and 70's) Gauges.
Vetteworks makes at kit for the retainer rights to work with the 4th gen Sender bucket.

I just used a 90's Ranger external fuel pump, added Corvette filter with built in return, and it has been good for years. Supplying enough fuel for a heads/cam/intake/exhaust car, EST @ 450ish whp. Now I will say that when WOT with 1/3 tank or less it does lean out some in the 5000+ RPM range.

The real solution is to buy a stock steel tank and sump it.
Or, I saw that they now make a trick fuel tank already sumped with servicable intank filter and pump. But now we are talking about some serious $$$

Is there a particular reason why you want it to be an in-tank pump? I used an external fuel pump from Autozone for like $25 and it worked flawlessly while I was carb'd and it was so quiet you had to listen really close to hear it pumping. I can try and find the number for you if interested. The pump comes with a prefilter and is regulated at 6-8psi for carb applications. I have an almost new sending unit for your tank out of my 69 Camaro if you are interested. Classic Muscle offers two different ones 1 has a lifetime warranty and the other is 90 days. I have the lifetime warranty one. PM me if you are interested. You are about 30 minutes from where I live.
