Default low boost budget build

I've been kicking around the idea of a mild boost build. I already have 317s with good springs and pushrods. I was thinking of using good bottom end hardware and forged dished pistons. I only plan on maybe 7psi.

Any other ideas?

Default i'm weetarded

get u good custom cam of course and may i ask why limit it to only 7 psi..thats about what i'm running now but i'm also on a stock bottom end (ARP connecting rod bolts tho) but I can tell you right now, if my engine was forged ,I would do 15+ PSI..as long as the fuel is there and the tune is good..oh the possibilities

im still pretty new to ls motors. so im not sure whats crazy for stock rods and crank. but i do know about doing the whole arp hardware in the bottom end. i already have a aftermarket cam in the car but it might be to much for boost. 233/239 .595/.603.
what kind of boost numbers would you think could be obtained with just forged pistons and some good hardware?

i'm honestly not 110% sure about the cam since I too myself am new to forced induction cams and i'm in the same boat for needing another cam for my setup..i'm being told that Bob @ Brutespeed is the guy to go to and that they have an off the shelf blower cam that has proven it'self over and over..it runs around 380 bucks I believe and I plan to be getting it very shortly, but as far as boost on a built bottom ended LS1..18 Psi should be no prob AS LONG as you're getting plenty of fuel (if you run lean with that much boost you can blow anything up) and also gotsta have an awesome tuner to do your tuning and work as well if you are'nt car savy, but there's nothing you can't figure out from the guys here on tech..ask around enough and they will square you away

oh , srry man, i'm not gona try to sell you on some pistons that i know lil about but there are alot of good comapanies out there such a Diamon and Mahle that have handled 1000+ RWHP street cars with no probs..alot is in the tune. seen some 03-04 Termi cobras blow up with only 600 or so RWHP becuase they had a bad tune..then there are 900 RWHP stock bottomed Termi's out there becuase there tune is spot on and they put in the time and money for proper tuning.
