ls1 cam, stall, and headers.
First ill give some info on my car. It is a 2000 camaro auto, ls1, NON ttop car. It is a z28 not a b4c car. I live in Sedalia, MO. 65301
What cam can I use in a stock ls1 motor without doing ANYTHING else?
Like a nice sound and more performance.
wanting something in the range of a 3200 stall.
This is a everyday driver. Only 1 mile from my job. I am a true newbee so I dont know if i need a lockup or non lockup converter. I dont want to have to get up to 3200 rpms at every stop light.
Need some cheap header also.
Would be interested in getting these parts used. or if you could give me the part numbers to cheap parts that would work, That would be great too. I would prefer to hear from people that have used the parts before. Dont have the money or time for trial and error... Thanks in advance for all the help guys...

eBay headers, TSP True Duals, 224r cam (going to require a bit more work than just putting in the cam), 3600 stall.
Also, buy a nice roadbike, no sense in driving the car 1 mile each way, poor thing never even gets warmed up.

I took my car to every place in town and tried to get them to put duels on it and they wont do it. For now I just want to do the mods I mentioned then go from there. Im even going to throw the 4:10 gears in and c how long the 10 bolt holds up. Ha Ha. I have a set of pro stars with slicks but I dont plan on breaking them out till I get further along in the project. ie: 12 bolt, and alot more power (turbo or SC, heads etc..) Not looking to put a blower cam in now.
But for now just want to change the cam, add a stall, and maybe headers and fix what breaks.
I am greatful for your help, Just think maybe your looking past my current goals. Slow down a little for me. Ha Ha

hope you also know that the prostars you have will not bolt up in the back without some "GRINDING" of the calipers. but ask these other guys too because I am a newbie too so not 100% positive. Also I have been looking into cams too and it seems like the 228R (according to other people on here and the sounds clips I heard) is a great cam. BUT, while your doing the cam you MUST do valve springs, REALLY SHOULD do pushrods, AND should also do timing chain and oil pump. sorry dude it was bad news to me too. seems like a lot but I have been assured that it is way worth it!.

It sounds like your on a budget and trying to do alot of mods for cheap, and that will only lead to head aches. A cam swap isn't cheap.
cam-$400
springs-$180
push rods-$110
bolt&gasket kit-$58
+tune-$400
$1148
and those are the bare minimum parts that you have to get to put in a mild cam, a big cam will require better springs and push rods. Then there are the parts you really should replace at the same time.
LS2 timing set-$110
ported LS6 oil pump-$180
+valve seals-$28
$318
then add an oil change, antifreeze, balancer installer, and other random stuff that you end up buying on a job this size and your easily to $1550-1600 to do the job right. But before you do the cam you need a 3200-3600 stall converter, headers, y-pipe and catback, or true duals.
The saying goes. Fast, cheap, reliable, you can only pick two.
