Car came with the pro star rims on it. Slicks in the back and skinies on the front. Instead of grinding on the calipers you can get spacers behind the pro stars. Also came with vette wheels. Im running the vette wheels due to the car does not have much power now. 14:05 in the 1/4. but it has sucky gears. 2:92's. Like I said I have some 4:10's for it. The slicks have threads showing and the front tires in bad shape too. I will just get some cheater slicks for the vette wheels. Doubt I use the pro stars in the near future.[/QUOTE]

Are you sure your car has 2.92's in it? From factory auto cars came with 2.73's or 3.23's. 4.10 is alittle much for a driver man. 3.73's is fine for almost anything that you would with your car. From what your saying in previous post you want a small cam, which you will regret, then there there is no reason for 4.10's and if you boost the car in the future then it will be a mistake. You really need to sit down and do some search on this forum. there is a so much info and good intellegent people on here that will help you.

In my opinion if you want a nice daily driver that wouldnt be far from stock a nice 224 cam or a 228 cam would be what your looking for with a 3600 stall, 3.73's and full exhaust. If you do care about 1/4 mile time you should be low 12's high 11's. If you want a quote for everything you need for a cam swap call one of the sponsors on this forum. A lot of guys us texas speed so give them a call. good luck with the car man

Definitely get a torque converter first. I didn't want to get one at first but you will seriously appreciate it after you get it on there. As far as looking for parts the parts classified has some great deals on almost everything.

Why get a converter first get the power and sound. Ya it will be the same from a dig untill it kicks in, then get a stall put in and a shift kit.

It was 2:73's then. I looked all that up before I got the 4:10 gears. I just know it had the worst gear option you could have. using 4:10 gears just because it will make the car a blast to drive. Not all about racing. And I just live 1 mile from work. 4:10's not a problem in my situation. Plus 4:10's is for the 10 bolt which is from what I hear on this site a temp rear end anyway. So when I upgrade rear ends I will think a little harder on the gears.

I have talked to a few people that have headers into 3" pipe and say there car breathes like a horse. Exhaust just to overpriced to go any other way for me.

I dont realy want a small cam. Im just thinking on my budget it was my only option. I hate using my whole budget to get everything the car would need for a nice BIG cam. Dont get me wrong, NOTHING sounds better than a ground thumping cam. Just dont know if I can afford it now. It is in the budget for the future though. I got all next winter to upgrade more.

Fast and cheap is what im looking for. reliable is out of the question for me! Ha Ha I have other things to drive if it breaks.

Wow im still at the same place I was a couple of days ago. Still no parts ordered. Any chance someone could email me the part numbers? I wont have a chance to check this site much during the week. OR does anyone have a nice built lsx car the want to trade for mine? Ha ha, Didnt think so.

PS: is my car rare due to being a non ttop v8 z28 instead of a b4c car? I heard if it didnt have ttops and it was a v8, it had to be a b4c car. So I checked mine and it is not.

From everything I've read a stall converter will make the car more fun to drive than any other mod, and it makes sense to me. Every time you floor it work motor will flash straight to your stall speed, no more waiting till your motor is in it's power band. Also if you think 4.10 gears are no big deal then you might as well go big on you stall converter and skip past 3600 and go for a 4000rpm stall.

I agree a stall is a must. I wasnt the one arguing that. Got a friend that has ran low 9's and he has drilled the stall in my head. Im going to stick with 3200 stall. With 4:10's my power band is never far away. 410's mainly for sliding around to me.

Dont know about a shift kit. Even with my sucky gears it slides a little sideways when it hits second. Car runs good from 35 mph and up.

Hey there IMO call Texas speed up , get that stall , then get LT headers and some 3:73 gears and tune.. If you want a little sound just get cut outs .. They will make your **** 3 times louder then it is now! So your running 14s well with all that you will be running mid to low 12s .. And that's a pretty huge jump in power for you ! And I am assuming you have a lid already !!
So IMO :
Lid(if you don't got one )
Stall+trans cooler
LTs
ORY
3:73 gears
Cut out .. And you can get all this stuff from the parts classifieds section here ! Or pick up the phone and call our sponsors >> those are the links on the side ! You don't need a cam , get those mods and I am sure you would have enough power to keep you very happy ! You would be a 12 second car easy .. That's a big difference from a 14 second car .. This is just my opinion sense I own a A4 car , that's what I wish I did .. By the way how many miles does your car have? Not sure if I missed that ??

Hey doesnt seem like anyone has recommended headers yet, so i'm going to say Pacesetter. They are very cheap yet they are extremely reliable. They are a wonderful budget header. I know so because i have them. And boy did it wake up my car! I went from about 280rwhp/ft lbs to 355.37rwhp 366ft lbs with just a full exhaust, LS6 intake manifold, ported and polished throttle body, and a dyno tune. Get your bolton mods done first man, you wont regret it!

Your going to need some sticky tires as well after you have all your boltons and stall converter I just put my stall converter on and I'm not getting any traction on 1st and 2nd gear

14 second 1/4 mile? I WOULD NOT blame the gears. What was your 60' time?

Lower control arms. Goes from your sfc(subframe connectors) if you have sfc to your rear end. It is what makes your rear end not got fowards or back. It also has a lot to do with your thrust angle.

First off I'll say welcome to the site. Like a lot of the guys have said search is your friend. Anything you would think about doing has been done atleast twice on here. However if you really want to keep a tight budget you can get a set of ebey headers, a stall from the for sale section here, cam from for sale section here, and a tune. Now if the car isn't loud enough for you get a cut out they are like $26 from summit racing. I have the ebay headers I got them for the same reason you are looking on ebay they were cheap. People might say they dont work but I went from basically your exact car an a4 z28 with gay 273s and put a lid ebay headers a cutout and some heavy 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 C5Z06 rims with 315's out back and ran a 13.5 on a slipping tranny hitting the rev limiter on each shift.

Oh yeah and do you already have the 4.10's? If so make sure they are for the 2 series carrier.

PS I have a set of 373's for 2 series carrier and a TCI streetfighter 3000 torque converter for sale. I have pics so if your interested pm me.
