Default Oil pressure goes down coming to a stop

I have an 01 SS with 125k, while driving normal the gauge stays at 40 but when coming to a stop it drops down below 40 about the 20-40 half mark. Is that normal? Thanks

The pick up sits in the back of the pan. Dumb question, but is it completely full of oil?

Yes, i just did an oil change yesterday. What i meant is that the gauge reads between 20-40 psi at idle at a stop, not while stopping.

Oil pressure will increase as rpm increases, so I would expect you to see a slight drop when the car is just idling.
