Default switching back to stock?

I have a cammed, nitrous car,9inch,4k stall, full slick. pretty much race car.
I get the car out 4 times a year maybe and maybe to the track 2 times. I really miss the stockness of the car just being able to start up with no problems everytime and not super loud. The whole modding thing just burnt me out. I have a stock 4l60 and 43k mile ls1 im thinking about putting back in the car. has anyone else done this and did you regret it? id just love to drive my car a lot more and think itd actually be fun. I have no need for street racing and all that stuff anymore also.

These cars are real smooth when stock or near stock if they're running properly, big stalls and huge cams aren't for everyone, so I see exactly where you're coming from. But, if you don't plan to daily drive the car, I can definitely imagine you becoming bored of the stock power after a little while.

I daily drive mines and it has an O/R Y and a Magnaflow Catback, it sounds sick and it's so smooth, I don't plan to do another thing to it except maybe a Lid if I get to it. I do like heavily modded cars, don't get me wrong, just don't want to butcher up a perfectly clean LS1 car that I daily drive with that stuff.

If I were you I would swap a smaller cam in it and make the exhaust quieter. With some street tires, that should make a huge difference in driveability. I enjoy my car much more with the cutout closed and my racing wheels sitting in the garage.

How about you stop being a pansy and just drive the car like a man with an LS car should? Just my .02 cents

I've got edelbrock headers, no cats, slp lm, k&n intake, and a dynotune on my 02 SS(so it has an ls6 manifold as well), and have 100% driveability without any issues and still haven't ran into anything faster than mine. Most of the time on the road you wont run into a huge power car and if you do, oh well.

IMO a regular bolt on car is basically all you need if you want to have fun on the street. Maybe a small cam car if you want to be faster than what you will run into on the road 9 times outta 10. IMO do a ls6 z06 head/cam swap and enjoy streetable power. Everyone just wants big horsepower nowadays and have these cammed out choppy cars with no a/c and all kinds of **** stripped outta it.

I know what you mean. I had a 98 Z28, full bolt ons, lowered like hell. Rear seat delete. And no a/c(previous owner just took the belt off the pulley which I threw on immediately.

And even just no rear seats, along with spohn solid motor mounts, while not horrible, were still a minor nuisance.

Now I have this SS, and it's lowered on bilstein shocks and other minor things. Faster than the Z28, and 100% ride in comfort. Only thing I could complain about is the lm muffler which is preference but I love it. Can't hear it inside at all, and outside it can be heard for quite a while away at wot. And brand new transmission as well.

Just make it a regular bolt on car OP, unless you just have to have a cammed/bolt on and car that may give you problems(I've never actually had any problems with cammed/stalled cars but I see quite a few people having problems) You'll still be able to enjoy it.

Even if you do decide to go back stock, i would keep the 9" and just throw some nice street tires on it. But i wouldn't go back lol. Good luck with your decision op

I know what you mean. I have a small cam in my ss (not much bigger than the z06 cam) and it puts down enough power for me. and with the cutout closed it is very enjoyable and I could drive this car across the country if I wanted to. Smooth, quiet, and packs a nice punch.
