Default Will too little preload cause valvetrain noise?

I know this has been beaten to death but i couldn't find anything by searching.

I checked my preload today and have a little under 3/4 turns using stock 5.3 lifters, tfs heads, and harland sharp rockers. Would getting that up to 1 1/4 of 1 1/2 quite my valvetrain down?

Thanks in advance

Yes it could Stock runs more preload then what you have for different reasons...one being noise, or rather less noise.

LOL, I was reading along and read this. It reminded me I need to get a pushrod length checker for an upcoming H/C swap. Thanks for the reminder, I'm going to go order!
