HELP!! Idk Whats Going on With My Car...
Ok so last night I was pulling into my neighbor hood and as I was decelerating when a car in front of me was turning onto a street I heard this loud "CLUNK." So I kept driving and as I turned onto my street I heard it again so I hurried up and parked my car and left it there for the night hoping in the morning it would go away. This morning I go out to my car and go for a little test drive to figure out what the hell is going on, so as I'm going everything is fine until I start decelerating... The noise happens again. After I had stopped at the second stop sign and was at a complete stop my "low trac" light was on for a few seconds and shortly after that my brake peddle started vibrating and it has never done anything like that before. So after the vibrations and after the "low trac" light went away my "ABS INOP" light lit up and remained illuminated as I turned around and came home....
*****NOTE: My transmission just got rebuilt maybe 700 miles ago and shortly after that it was giving me a P1870 code which I took back to the shop and they cleared it and everything was back to normal. **ALSO: prior to this happening my rear end has been whining for about 6k miles** *****
What do yall think it is... My transmission or my rear end?
Thanks yall any help is appreciated!!

Your going to have to remove the wheels tires and brakes and slide out the axles. Right now would be a good time to just upgrade the rear if you have funds. If not I'd beef up the 10 bolt.

I'll post pics later on! I'm tryin to figure out how to slide the axle... There's C-clips holding it in place and it won't slide out! Any ideas??

Your bolt didn't brake off in your pinion shaft did it? That happens from time to time. How long is the bolt you removed? It should have a long smooth shoulder after the threads that is about three quarters of an inch long???
If there is nothing after the threads then part of the bolt is still in differential
carrier preventing pinion shaft from sliding out. I hope that is not the case.

That sucks, never happened to me but one of my guys has removed them quite a few times. He recommends drilling them with left handed drill bit, usually backs out the broken piece. Another method is drill hole and use easy out to remove broken piece and he said he was even so lucky as to use compressed air to blow a piece out once. He did say that when drilling you will need to hold pinion shaft to keep it from moving so that you successfully drill into what is left of bolt. For access he said sometimes necessary to loosen side bearing caps to get straight shot at drilling bolt out of pinion shaft. I don't know how that will work with the axles still in?

Ok after hours of fooling with it, we dropped the rear end an got it on jack stands, we got the rest of the bolt out and now the pin will still only move 1/4 of an inch either way.... Any advice?
