Default 2nd time at the strip Stock '02 T/A

2nd time taking out the T/A...well drag racing too. Well, I did better almost in the 12's. Still running my '02 Trans Am M6 and street tires 16x8's with a lid being the only mod to the car.

Times of my 2 best runs:

60' 2.059
330 5.679
1/8 8.589
MPH ???? Not on the slip
1/4 13.171 @ 107.65
This run the car got real tail happy on the shift to 2nd but I stayed in it. If it hadn't have spun so bad in second I might have got a 12 on this one.

Here is my best run the 13.006 pass.

http://youtu.be/4IgfCpssJGk

60' 1.982
330 5.581
1/8 8.478
MPH 85.47
1/4 13.006 @ 107.95
This run felt slower but had a better ET.
My other 4 runs were still in the 13.1's

I feel like the car has more in it but I just can't get it out of it. I know the mph could get better from my shift point from 3rd to 4th. At least I think it could.

I originally had the et showing as 13.006 at 102.74 but it was late and dark and I misread the timeslip. Just wanted everyone to know why the post was edited. I thought I might have had a problem with the car since my Top end MPH was down. Turns out I just can't read.

Nice runs!!1 especially on street tires with an m6. I went for the first time on drag radials and could only muster a 1.9 short time and an 8.3 @ 89 in the 8th.

Do you feel like there is more there? I know DR's would put it in the 12's but would probably break this rear end. I really feel like I can get 12's like it is. If I get my shift points down and get off the line right.

Nothing. I spent 3 weeks rebuilding and fixing the car after I bought it. It was rough when I got it. I haven't got to the motor yet. I haven't even gotten to put on my skip shift eliminator yet. Is there such a thing as a "free" mod that will increase performance? I've thought about different ways for the airbox to work better but haven't tried them. Seems pretty restrictive how it's made.

Nice runs man. Just keep practicing. With a 1.95 60', you should run 12.9s. Don't be afraid to run a tire on your set-up.

Got it. I plan on checking all that today. I had given serious thought to the TB already but hadn't gotten around to it. Thanks a lot. The guy that owned the car didn't even know how to change a tire so I'm sure nothing has been done.

Did the mods. I can hear a definite difference. Since I have the stock exhaust all I can hear is the motor while driving. Sounds a little more throaty now too. Can't wait to get back to the strip...... After I change the pinion bearings Hopefully Thusday night.

Pinion nut came VERY loose after those passes that I made... barely made it home. And it was my first time out ever on those tires....just regular street tires, some goodyears off my buddies GTA. old and dry rotted and discontinued now. but they hooked WAAAY better than the first set of tires i had. And i had only had the car a month or so. Soo YES.. I think it has more in it. In good air like today or yesterday, car ran hard as hell yesterday out on the street, I think it would run an 8.15 give or take at 86.5ish mph.
