Smoked side markers and VHT'd 3rd brake light
Hey guys. I just got done doing some exterior mods so I figured I'd make a post! Keep in mind the car is filthy, and it has recently snowed here so 'good' pics will have to follow this spring.
Anyways, I picked up a set of smoked side marker lights from a retailer on E Bay. There is a slight coloring difference from front to rear- rear being slightly darker. It's noticeable, but not bad.
Then I took my OEM 3rd brake light and applied two light coats of VHT Nite Shades to it. I basically prepped the light by wiping it down with Acrysol (wax/grease remover), sprayed first coat, dried with hairdryer on low for a few minutes, then applied a second coat. The light was then allowed to dry over night. Once dried I compounded the paint by hand with Meguiars M105 compound. That was followed by some Meguiars M205 polish by hand. This gives the paint a shiny look to it.
All in all, I think the final result of both looks great. It finishes the black/white exterior theme. When it gets warmer out I'll pull my fog lights and dust them with VHT Nite Shades. I never use them so I'm not worried about the reduction in light output.

Thanks for the replies! I like them so far. I just wish it was spring/summer out and I could detail the car and take nice pictures. I miss the warm weather!
I'm so glad I took the side moldings and Trans Am badges off. The car looks so clean now. The lines of the T/A are accented by the lack of badges.
