If you don't mind the extra weight I'd go with an iron block. In my case I already have my L92/LS3 block. I'm thinking of doing a 1/2 fill, pinning the mains and using the stock crank. Everything else will be forged. I'm hoping for 1200+ at the flywheel.
There are many aluminum blocks that have been taken past 1000RWHP. You just need to keep in mind that at the end of the day you don't have an iron block.
