Anyone noticing a drop off in Firebird sightings?
Since we have now entered the 10 year mark since the last Firebird rolled off the line, has anyone else been noticing the number of Firebirds dropping from the roads? I'm talking all Firebirds, from the 6 cylinder models to the Firehawks and everything in-between. I rarely see any in my rural area but during my last trip to Atlanta, I saw maybe 3 (actually saw a 'vert too). I'm talking I-85, the popular Farmer's Market, supermarkets, everywhere. Just very few compared to the thousands of cars we observed on our trip down there.

On the plus side, more are showing up in junk yards. This means hard to find and easily destroyed interior pieces, panels, glass, suspension, etc is easier to obtain. Hell, I picked through 3 Trans Ams for perfect replacement kick panels and even found a perfect hard top a-pillar with all the clips. All three pieces for $6.40!
It's to be expected, but I'll be glad to see more available in my local junk yard. Now if only someone would let an LS1 motor and T56 trans get past the entrance...

I think I'm the only one in my state! That's how rarely I see them around here, I've probably seen 5 in the last 5 or 6 years....and when I do see them I flip the headlights to say hi and they just look at me like "wtf"?

Maybe in your area, but I have seen a steady amount of sightings over the years here. Granted our pop is just over 200K in this town, but the f-body/capita is actually pretty good. There's almost an f-body for each block in my area with many of them being good and clean examples.

I have seen a handful in the past year or so, with the trans ams sticking out the most as that was what I was looking for. When I didn't have one or want one I didn't notice them. Now I get all getty inside when i see one...automatically assuming its someone from tech

" my thoughts are walk outside and throw a rock, you'll end up hitting either a corvette, mustang or camaro... you hardly see any firebirds, formulas or trans ams on the road let alone a firehawk... that in it's self is special to me!" - Me

Not many F-Body sighting period this time of year in my neck of the woods. I see a few DD Camaros running around, mostly 6cyls, but haven't seen a T/A in a while. One April hits I'll be better able to judge the amount of sightings.
I always see more Camaros though, and I se more T/A's vs. Formulas or even 6cyl Birds.
It's one of the reasons I love my Formula, I feel it's pretty unique.
