Turbo rebuild..leaking oil
The 408 in my car burned up, its going to be down for about a month or so. While its down, I need to have the turbo looked at. Its pushing oil out of the back of the housing, past the bolts. The turbo is a 76mm thats had some housing work done. I also had some oil in my innercooler when I took it off the car for inspection...any suggestions/recommendations welcomed.

Like dr. Turbo said usually a leaky turbo is a result if its installation not the turbo itself. Take it Spartan and clean the ring grooves really well and make sure you have a proper drain and maybe oil restrictor. Also if your brethren system isn't sufficient it can cause a pressure in your drain tube not allowing it to drain well either.

I uploaded a few pics for your viewing pleasure.
The oil is fed with a 3an line, drain is a 6an into a turbowerx pump. The hose runs up into a fitting on the passenger side valve cover.

-6 on the drain is a no no....-10 minimum. Also any check valves in the system?? What happens to the oil in the feed line once you turn the pump off?? It has no where to go except seep through the charger.

Could it be a bad oil return flange gasket? Looks from the pictures like the oil is above the line between the housing... almost as if the pressure is spraying from the gasket to the housing somehow. Maybe replace the gasket and re-tighten. My flange was dripping oil too, but a 1/8 extra turn tightened it up and now it doesn't leak. I'd say, drop the flange and check it, just to be sure.
Especially if your're running a Journal bearing (unrestricted feed line).
(Mine is a BB with restrictor).
