Broken #6 intake valve spring/H/C question
So, I have been trying to figure out this misfire my car has been having that started Friday while cruising. I pulled the valve covers and the #6 intake spring is broken. I drove a good 40 miles with it like this. I rotated it by hand and the valve goes up and down like it should. My question is 1...: Where can I get new springs tomorrow ..its my DD and need to get it back on the road.
Or.... Would it be worth it to put new heads on it with the possibility of a damaged piston?
Im in Ft Worth, the car has Comp beehive springs with like 20k on them.

u could put a stock one in until you find a replacement...just dont beat on it. Was the retainer clip still attached to the valve? if not id pull the head. well id pull the head anyway just to check the valve and the piston.

Put a spring on it and see. I have replaced many over the years without issue.
If you can move the valve up and down and spin it it is probably fine.
A leakdown or compression check would be good, but I definitely wouldn't pull the head just to look. All that you are gonna see is maybe a bent valve and a mark on the piston. If the spring fixes it then the valve is fine and the piston wont have enough damage to cause any issues. So if the spring makes it run okay pulling the head would be a complete waste of time.
