Well i dont even know where to start but i bought a j bracket and a d1sc from different members on here and i am trying to bolt everything together but nothing lines up. i was told both would work on a ls1 camaro. the s/c pulley hits the j bracket unless you put two shims behind it but then it hits the alternator pulley when bolted up. plus with the two shims the idler pulley doesnt line up with the crack pulley or the s/c charger pulley. i checked to make sure my stands off and spacers were correct which they were. it seems like the j bracket is to thick and i need the stand offs and spacers to be 1/4 to a 1/2 inch longer. any input is appreciated, thanks

I'm just throwing this out there since it happened to me. Check to see if you have the idler pulley on backwards. I had mine on backwards at first and nothing would line up.

Well it looks like you have a 8 rib idler pulley and a 6 rib blower pulley. What stand offs do you have(they are different from 6 rib to 8 rib) and what is the diameter of the pulley.

Also I know on some setups you need to clearance the j bracket for some of the larger blower pulleys

I have the 2.5 standoff and the blower pulley is a 4.25. also i checked the idler both ways.

You don't need the pulley shims when you run the 6-rib pulley. Also, the 6-rib pulley has a slight offset to it. Make sure you install it so that the drive portion of the pulley sits closer to the blower. Make sure you also don't have the 8-rib idler shaft vs the 6-rib.

how do i differentiate between the 8 or 6 rib idler shaft? i bought the idler shaft from you last week separately bc i already had the pulley?

The 6-rib idler shaft has a base (larger round part) that's about .975" and the portion that sticks out from the bracket will be about 1.1".

The 8-rib idler shaft has a base (larger round part) that's about 1.5" and the portion that sticks out from the bracket will be about 1.4".

The 6-rib idler is 2.3" diameter.

The 8-rib idler is 2.5" diameter.

The idler shaft runs $25.

even when you get it on right, you will still be surprised how lil room there is between them and the alternator....we are talking a 1/4 inch or less.
