Default What type of cell for E85?

I'm starting to set up my fuel system for a turbo 6.0l grand national. I'm going to be running E85. Do I have to get a steel cell or will the plastic with foam work as well? Anyone have any experience? Thanks

Hey Nate, what's your thoughts on running e85 with regular nitrile rubber hose instead of the teflon?

I havent seen any problems in the couple years that Ive had E85 in the car. Just makes sure you use name brand stuff. I like the Goodridge 210 series black braided hose.

im thinking I will need -10 but seeing mainly -8. nothing crazy. prob 14 psi. stock 6.0l 76mm. do the aluminum cells come with foam in them? i want to get a sending unit in it as well. what about aluminum line? would it be too hard on plastic? not sure on what external pump yet. still not real sure on what needs a driver box and what doesn't. lol

We've done stock tanks and aluminum cells(not coated or anything) without issue.

Thanks guys! Been alot of stuff going on. finally got it out of storage and working to get it done. Should have the drive train in 2 weeks. Need to get small stuff done.

GRR- I will have to figure out how to upload them. Youve seen my car. I sent you pics on TB like 2 years ago.lol Your regal is the complete reason I am doing mine. I talked about buying it when it was for sale but didnt have the cash. Greatly appreciate any in put.

SKINNIES, your stuff is amazing. Thanks as well.

LS1NOVA How is that line still doing?
Ive decided on a plastic cell with no foam. -10 to holley dominator pump to reg. All goodridge 210. -8 to the rails. then -10 from fpr to cell. I figure that should give me more than I will ever need. Thoughts?

I ran E85 in a plastic cell but took all the foam out.
I was told by my E85 carb builder if the foam already had gas in it remove it and get new foam before running E85. If its a new cell and new foam E85 will be fine.
Mine was a drag car so the foam didnt really matter to me. Held up fine.

It will be a street/strip car. I got conflicting answers on the foam but got enough stories of it coming apart and clogging the filter, that I decided against having it. lol Haven't figured out how I want to run it to the rails and to the fpr. Do you guys have any pics of your set up? Thanks!
