Default ASP Pulley - Machining?

Decided to add an ASP underdrive pulley to my HC project - somewhere I got the idea that I may need to have the pulley machined ... on a Corvette ... using a dlb row timing chain... if that makes a difference? Can anybody help my memory regarding this?

Default

I didn't have to machine my ASP pulley while using a rollmaster double chain, but I have an F-body. I have read that Y-bodies do need to have the pulley machined in order to fit with a double chain.
