Suzuki SV650 vs LS1 Camaro *VIDEO*
Went to the local runs tonight & after a couple min of no one running me & this guy on a street bike decided to run for *****. I thought I was going to get walked..... I mean I know a 650 isn't the fastest thing around but still it is a bike.
So our first race we lined up giving me about 3 bike lengths. Stayed ahead of him the whole way but he began to reel me in but at about 105-110 mph his bike threw out an anchor & just couldn't pass me! Was probably at my rear wheel. One of my closest races yet & my first time against a street bike! Wish I could of gotten the first race on vid!!!
We turned around & I had to get the GoPro out & get it on video! Except this race I was revved a little lower then I should of been so my car kind of died down when I launched. So he caught me pretty quick. But just stayed at the front of my car again until 105-110 & I began to reel him in but he let off.

The sv650 is usually good for low 12s @ 105-110 depending on the rider.
It's normal for smaller bikes (<1000cc) to fall completely on their faces at 100mph. They don't have the HP to overcome their aerodynamic inefficiency.

no bike lengths man, just run him heads up. GSX600 is about the same as a SV650 speedwise. Most riders are scared of digs and can't launch for nothing, though the SV650 is one of the easiest bikes ever made for launching besides a harley.

Me on my dads Kawasaki Concours 1000 had no problems staying dead even 100's of times against my friends SV650. But when we added a friends GSXR 600 to the mix, he would eat us alive as well as the ZX-6 and CBR 600RR. Top end monsters.

I remember beating my first bike...it probably was a sv650 or something but I knew nothing about bikes then. Fast forward to now and I would never race a GSXR600 or 750 or 1000, now that i've had an R1 it seems pointless to race any bike with an "R" in the name lol. Just maintain your pride and avoid sport bikes, or buy one and be happy
An SV650 is considered a beginner bike a bit faster than 250's and 500's but not a rocket.
But good race non the less

A GSXR 600 would utterly destroy a SV650. I've witnessed this first hand. Many times. A GSXR 600 is leagues ahead of a SV650. The SV650 however, is a little trickier to launch due to its VTwin, but the low end torque is pretty strong when applied properly. However, if the GSXR600 launches just right (quite easy), the GSXR 600 will have no problem at all walking a SV650.

Good kill, I used to have an SV650. They are good in the first few gears, but anything above 100 gets really slow. The standard version without fairings might do 125 or 130 on a great day.
