Default whats a good cam for bolt on ls1

Title says it all i have a 2000 z28 a4 with full bolts ons n a 3500 stall. Im looking to get a good street/strip cam that i can spray a little juice with????? The car has a small cam but i know the motor needs a more efficient one. So any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

i too have a small cam but if i ever get a full exhaust i will go with a torquer to match. they seem to always perform and have ok drivability.

With this motor its just gonna stay a sbe ls1 on like a 200 shot. Not sure what cam is in the car bought it from a guy and unfortunately he bought it already done and didnt have any paperwork. From what i know it has a tune, lts, ssi intake, 80mm tb, 30# injectors, stall, and dumped flomasters before the rear. It is supposed fo have a 3.73 gear...Im trying to just have fun with it this year and do a boosted 408 iron block build over the winter.

I also say torquer v.2 since you want power to about 6400 or so. You could step up to the v.3 if you wanted.

I'd go with a wider split with the juice.
I'd look at the TSP 233/239 over the Tq2.

Are you wanting a big cam with a lot of lope?
If you don't want to go big then a 226/230 or a 228/232 would also be good options.

It is not just a matter of split, you need the right valve events. 200 wet on a stock bottom is pushing it.

The important thing is to tune it spot on. (all the time). That means you'll need to adjust for AF and a live wide-band is highly recommended. Also need to "read" plugs. Let us assume all this is covered, nitrous hits hard and rod bolts take a beating, so I would strengthen those, (especially on Y2K model). Katech rodbolts is a nice option.
For more than 150, I usually like to use a progressive shot.

200 is out of the question for a stock short. you will only blow it and be disappointed. stick with a 100 or 125 to be safe. and run a window switch as well. dont spray it under 3000rpm and have it shut off about 300-500rpm before you shift.

How many miles are on the trans? theres a possibility it will go out if its stock. Mine is bone stock except for an upgraded Beast sun shell and corvette servos. its went over 2 years on spray and holds up great.

the V2 or V3 cams will be a good way to go.

See thats just it i have no clue whats done to this thing neither did the guy i got it from. The car has just over 100k miles i can tell it at least has a shift kit it also has a b&m deep aluminum pan and aluminum ds. But here is another concern of mine it has this vibration even if im sittin in park and bring the rs up??? Id like the car to make it through the year so i might just shy away from spray get a cam and some good suspension under it then a 12 bolt bc i dont trust the 7.5 as far as i can toss it and justtry to get it in the 11s on nut

yea if you or him have no idea whats been done to it i would stay away from the spray, unless you dont mind breaking the bread to repair the trans if it goes out. and with your auto you should be ok with that 10 bolt. my 10 bolt lasted hella long b4 going out. it just recently went out after years and years of abuse. the pinion broke a few teeth. after it went 10s. the 12 bolt is sweet though! posi is soo much better!
